Not Terrible, Not Fantastic,
Let’s face it – when camping, there are two categories of gear: provisions and additional stuff that may be helpful. This package from Coleman, consisting of (1) a tiny broom and dustpan, (2) four aluminum stakes, (3) a rubber-headed mallet and (4) a stake remover, certainly cascade in the second category.
(1) Broom and dustpan — tiny, plastic and conservational, this just force get the most use out of whatever thing in the package. Not much to say here — it does its job. Save the plastic wrapper this comes in, because its hard to get the broom back into the mesh bag lacking it.
(2) Four aluminum stakes — these are really pretty excellent. The stakes are much longer and sturdier than the ones that came with my tent. They are in effect giant nails with a conservational plastic head emotionally involved for the line to tie onto. I would worry about cracking the heads if they got too cold.
(3) Rubber-headed mallet — much more significant than you force reflect. excellent heft to this and it will do it’s job and any others that force call for a akin tool. A bit gray, if whatever thing.
(4) Stake remover — Cheap, bends out of shape.
All of this comes packed in a modest mesh bag. The bag is not really huge enough for all of this stuff, nor is it really well-built enough to place up with any amount of abuse, and the stakes punch aptly owing to the underside.
Underside line — you can camp a thousand times lacking having this set and you would never miss it, but it’s always nice to have extra stakes and a way to sterile your tent floor. For the fee, it’s not a terrible set to have.

|Nice modest kit,
Handy modest kit to have for camping. The stakes are practically nice and really saved us when our cheap stakes couldn’t hold down the tent. The tent puller also is a time saver. My only complaint is that the bag is simply too tiny. I couldn’t get the brush/pan out lacking tearing up the tiny bag. Otherwise it is a handy addendum. I’ll use the bag for more stakes that I’ll be buying.
Edit: June 23,2007. I’m early to question the rubber hammer. We tented in a very rocky area and the rubber hammer worked, but a gray duty steel hammer is really the best scale. I won’t tent over again lacking a high feature hammer. Soothe, the stakes are exceptional.

This is really handy to have on hand when camping! The extra stakes are a nice plus, and really nicer than the ones that came with our tent. And the mallet and sterile-up items are fantastic, because you don’t have to reflect of packing the items seperately, just grab the pack and go. Exceptional time saver!

I gave this as a gift to my sister to accompany thier new fire pit. They also are avid campers. They raved about it the feature and for the fee, that’s what I like!

|Fantastic Outdoor Addendum,
They are really handy when cooking hot dogs, sausages and marshmallows over an open fire. The long forks work really fantastic for the kids to use so they won’t get burned. We have had lots of fun roasting marshmallows and would urge this set to anyone that spends time outdoors cooking.

|Frequently excellent…,
My only problem was with the 4 dog holding clamped thing. The weenies fell out of it (the dog liked this–we did not). With giving up on that, the additional split sticks worked really well.
