ok a few things, initially this is a full tang knife, and it comes with a fire starter. yes it comes blunter than a butter knife, and yes the rope grip is incredibly uncomfortable. BUT, the hilt has holes with makes re-wrapping the handle with some rope or para-cord very simple, once re-wrapped the handle is comfortable, also the steel is clad feature, so with a modest sharpening the knife becomes very usable. underside line 7$ and 10 minuets of your time and you have physically a clad knife.

Let me make a few assumptions if you are taking into account buying this knife. 1) You are not plotting on buying a $200 Gerber. 2) You do not consider physically a survivalist but you do DVR Man Vs Wild. 3) You’re buying as a gift for a name who DVRs Man Vs Wild. 4) In all honesty the largest thing you have ever looked-for a “survival” knife for while camping is to Rambow open a bag of chips.

This was my initially full tang knife and I honestly bought it thought I could do more with it than I really can. Once I bunged trying to baton plants down with it and used it for what it really is, its a excellent knife. It easily beats any similarly priced folder or multi-tool (and hollow handle piece of junk) for back woods functionality, and its a very educational knife. Its pretty much just a chunk of stainless steel, so as long as you dont beat it to death, nothing can go incorrect with it.
You must sharpen it. You must do something with the handle. (I went on youtube and cultured how to para-cord a handle.) Ive used it as a spearhead, for making tent pegs and splitting kindling. All in all its a excellent tool that you can keep on you lacking ever knowing its there until you need it, and its fantastic for opening bags of chips.
The firesteel on the additional hand is incredible! If you have never used one before to you will like early fires with it. Knowing you can make fire lacking matches or lighters gives you a warm fuzzy suspicion.

So I urge owning this knife for the experience of of owning this knife. Also, consider a Mora, or Cold Steel Bushman.

Initially of all this knife is China stainless. The pseudo-paracord force as well be the yarn your grandmother knits with. You’ll have to do a handle re-wrap. The blade comes dull and the scabbard is cheap crap. It’s a solid tang knife with a excellent feel once re-wrapped. The fire starter is really cool and works well. Even if, the blade scuffs easily. You can’t nag too much agreed the fee, But if you buy a knife of this type stick to the silver/raw/unpainted blade.
